This whole area was originally owned by the famous gin making family the Larios in part and was in part common land for the grazing and rearing of cattle. Many families stem from either Gaucin or Jimena. The village has supermarkets a medical centre, sports centre with swimming pool and very popular yoga classes which people of all ages attend.
