Jimena de la Frontera is in the province of Cadiz in Andalusia, near the neighbouring province of Malaga. The village is seeped in history that goes back to the Phonecians, Romans and Moors. the castle is of Arabic/Christian construction – built on Roman foundations. (They in turn may have used Neanderthal or Phonecian markers). Mankind has always chosen this as an ideal place to live  with its sunny clime and natural water source.
