Off-grid home seeks new custodian.
Turnkey fully furnished property in Colmenar forest. This is a 3 bed, 3 bath finca of 1.1 hectares (11,000 m2) with space for non-permanent structures such as Yurts or Tepees. The main house is a single storey, raised roof bungalow of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 open planned living room-kitchens. Each half connects to the large outdoor terrace via its own front door. If 2 independent living quarters were preferred, there is a connecting door.
A large terrace looks out due south to the mountains opposite and between them lie vistas of Africa. At night, look up, the sky is a vast expanse of stars unveiled and sparkling. To the right of the terrace is a pool and a 15 m2 covered chill zone/tea room that has a Moroccan feel to it.
In addition, at the bottom of the grounds is a separate studio with storage, living and sleeping area plus kitchen and bathroom of approximately 50 m2.
Very near to this little house is an imitation First Nations Medicine Wheel and an amazing stone sculpture of an iguana built from two large boulders to form the head and other stones of various sizes placed to create steps representing the flanks and legs.
Eco Culture Lifestyle Choice
During 23 years, the owners have transformed this estate into a permaculture of exceptional beauty. The finca is self-sufficient in many aspects. Apart from an annual run, to stock up on staples such as pulses and grains, the owners can stay here for months on end. An overall tropical feel, with frangipani flowers, tamarind trees and over 20 varieties of palm trees. There is an organic cornucopia of herbs, spices, fruit and vegetables all grown here: smoky cherry-tomatoes, elderberry, macadamias, mangos, mulberries and the amazing San Pedro cactus, to name but a few. Absolutely remarkable. Water is abundant. In summer they use around 10,000 litres daily of fresh spring water which is pumped from a bore hole and from an ancient spring used over millennia. Living off grid, they have 2 x 10,000 litre storage tanks for water and 12 solar panels which power 230 volts for day time usage and 12 watts for night time to disconnect from the hum. In addition they have a back-up petrol generator that they have almost never used. ADSL internet is via radio waves and both homes have washing machines and all necessary mod cons for 21st century living.

You do not need to be a recluse or a hermit to live here, but the land must be maintained all year round. If it all sounds like bliss, arrange to view. If you would love to live there for a few months at a time, but your business does not allow you to disconnect for longer, consider employing permanent staff, and fly in when time allows. You need an off-grid / permaculture mentality for this to be a good fit. This will suit very few people, but may well be exactly what you have been waiting for. Only 550,000€
